Our 2nd graders dove into an amazing learning experience at the Newport Aquarium! They witnessed the power of sharks, observed the unique behaviors of penguins, touched the sting rays, and discovered the diverse ecosystems of the ocean. All while completing a challenging scavenger hunt that reinforced their knowledge! It was a day of hands-on learning and underwater exploration. 🐙🪼🪸

Dual Language Immersion Cultural Night - Come and Join us for a fun evening!

Mrs. Alderson’s preschool class had a GLOW-rious time celebrating the letter “G”! They danced, formed letters using glow sticks, and drew glowing shapes in the air. Learning through play is what preschoolers do best, and today’s glow stick party was a shining example! 🌟

Before School Clubs Fun: The Read Aloud and Craft Club had a paws-itively fun time celebrating Clifford the Big Red Dog’s birthday! 🐶❤️ Students enjoyed a sweet treat, listened to a Clifford story, and created their own adorable Clifford handprint crafts. What a tail-wagging good time!

Kindergarten DLI students celebrated Clifford's 62nd Birthday! They painted Clifford and enjoyed reading Clifford books. They also had a surprise visitor!

February is National Children's Dental Health Month, a month-long observance that promotes good oral health for children. Janie from Oyler Family Dentistry came in to speak to Mrs. Steiner's preschool students and promoted the importance of brushing and flossing their teeth. She showed them X-rays, and each student went home with a care bag.

First grade students in Mrs. Showalter's class are working on building their fluency! Today they started with a word hunt for soft c and soft g words, read the passage together as a class, practiced with partner reading, and wrapped up by illustrating what they read. They love growing as fluent readers!

Congratulations to our January Preschool Students of the Month! These students received a certificate and prize. We are so proud of their hard work! Not pictured: Alaska Hollin

Piper and Mrs. Geary had a wonderful time on their lunch date to Skyline! Piper won the raffle benefiting the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Program and selected Mrs. Geary to dine with at Skyline. The ladies enjoyed lunch and had fun conversation!

Last week Mrs. Wintz’s class participated in fun writing and craft activities to celebrate Presidents’ Day! Students wrote about one thing they would do if they were president for the day.

Preschoolers in Mrs. Wanstrath’s class have been busy practicing writing their names on Valentine postcards this week! After carefully writing their names, they sent their postcards to friends through the Dramatic Play Center. It’s a fun way to practice writing and share a little love with classmates!

1st Grade students in Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Showalter’s classes teamed up for a fantastic Valentine’s Day celebration! Students rotated through seven exciting stations, where they decorated cookies, played Cupid’s Arrow Toss, rolled Valentine’s dice, stacked candy hearts, played bingo, created their own valentines, and handed out their cards. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the day a success!

Our January Principal's Pride students have AWESOME character and citizenship. We enjoyed eating lunch with them. Keep up the great job!

It has been an exciting week at LPS! We hosted ribbon cutting ceremonies on Tuesday for each grade level to open our new playgrounds. The students loved exploring and playing on the new equipment.
